UrbanID Design

Enduring design, shaped by people and purpose.

A spatial strategy and design firm. From new-build and adaptive-reuse residential and public buildings to multi-level residences and mixed-use projects, our work responds to site and climate, and privileges durability and adaptability.

What We Do

Crafted architecture, integrated interiors.

We approach buildings and interiors as a single, integrated discipline — creating environments that are functional, durable and shaped by how people actually use space, with a view to long-term adaptability.

Feasibility

Site opportunities and constraints, budget alignment, and a clear brief — testing what's possible before committing to a design direction.

Design

From concept through design development, we resolve the built form — spatial planning, materials and detail — and prepare documentation for planning and building approval.

Construction

We support contractor selection and tender review, then stay engaged through contract administration — site meetings and coordination through to practical completion.

Our Process

A structured, transparent process — every stage documented and tracked.

Where is UrbanID Design based?

Our studio is in Carlton, Victoria. We work across metro Melbourne and regional Victoria, including Ballarat.

What is adaptive reuse?

Adaptive reuse means reworking an existing building for a new purpose while retaining its structure and character — a sustainable alternative to demolition that we apply across both heritage and contemporary projects.

How is UrbanID Design related to UrbanID Analytics?

UrbanID Analytics is our sister practice. It uses live data capture and agent-based simulation to test and predict how a space will perform before you build — connecting data-led insight with our built design work.
